Hands-on exhibits and STEM activities make the Discovery Center ideal for group visits.
Bring your students or group to the Discovery Center at Water’s Edge for an engaging, hands-on learning experience. Our interactive exhibits and STEM activities encourage curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving while making science fun and memorable for learners of all ages.
We welcome school groups, camps, homeschool organizations, and community groups for field trips designed to inspire exploration and discovery.
To schedule your visit, simply complete the Group Reservation Form, and a member of our team will follow up to confirm your visit and answer any questions.
Group Admission
Field trip rates for a two-hour visit
Discounted group pricing is available for pre-registered visits.
- 6–17 students: $7 per child
- 18–39 students: $6 per child
- 40+ students: $5 per child
Additional time may be available for $2 per child per hour, depending on scheduling availability.
- Adult chaperones: $5 each
- Group organizer/lead teacher: Free
Parking
Limited parking is available directly at the Preview Center.
Additional parking can be found nearby off Bata Boulevard in the adjacent office complex, just a short walk from the center.
Payments
No advance deposit is required for group reservations. Payment is due upon arrival.
We accept several forms of payment, including cash, credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and American Express), and business checks payable to Discovery Center at Water’s Edge. If your school requires a purchase order or invoice, please arrange this at the time of reservation.
Things to Know
All students must be accompanied by adult chaperones at all times.
Chaperones are responsible for student behavior during the visit.
Groups displaying inappropriate behavior may be asked to leave without a refund.
A free room rental is available for meals or ceremonies after exhibit time (advance reservation required).
Cancellations & Weather
If you need to cancel or reschedule your visit, please notify us at least 7 days in advance.
Late cancellations may incur a fee of $75 or 25% of the total reservation cost, whichever is greater.
Weather-related closures or school cancellations will not incur a fee, and visits may be rescheduled. In the event of severe weather, updates will be communicated directly and posted on our social media channels.
Enrichment Experiences
Enhance your field trip with hands-on STEM workshops
Take your field trip further with an interactive STEM workshop led by Discovery Center staff. Workshops provide deeper learning opportunities and can be aligned with classroom topics or educational standards.
Schools may choose from existing programs or work with our team to design a custom enrichment experience tailored to their curriculum.
