Coding & Robotics Academy
Building the next generation of creators, coders, & problem-solvers.
Learn to Code. Build the Future.
Interactive classes introducing students to programming, robotics, & computational thinking.
The Coding & Robotics Academy (CRA) partners with the Discovery Center at Water’s Edge to offer engaging coding and technology classes for elementary and middle school students. These hands-on programs introduce young learners to the fundamentals of programming, robotics, and computational thinking in a fun and supportive environment.
Through guided lessons and interactive challenges, students learn how to think logically, solve problems creatively, and build their own digital projects. Classes are offered several times throughout the year and provide an excellent opportunity for students to explore the exciting world of coding and technology.
Registration is required for all classes. Program fees help cover instructor costs, materials, and also support the Discovery Center’s mission to expand access to STEM education in the community.
CRA Classes At-A-Glance
The Coding & Robotics Academy offers a variety of programs designed to introduce students to different programming tools & technologies.
Scratch Coding
Students learn the basics of programming by creating interactive stories, animations, and games using the beginner-friendly Scratch platform.
Python
Older students explore one of the world’s most widely used programming languages while learning key concepts such as logic, variables, and simple applications.
BBC micro:bit
Students program and interact with the micro:bit – a small programmable computer used to build fun projects involving sensors, lights, and simple robotics.
